Company

Avalis Healthcare Systems AG is a privately owned, shareholder based company, located in Zürich, Switzerland. Our high caliber management team and advisory committee have decades of global experience in mobile clinical applications, disease management, healthcare policy and economics.

Management Team

Mr. Adrian Smith
CEO
Adrian was for 13 years a Senior Manager of the ResMed Group (a leading Respiratory Medicine Company) and an integral part of the team that developed and grew the business from US13M and 85 employees in Dec 1994 to approx USD 800M and 3,000 persons, by June 2007.

Over this extended period Adrian as CFO and later as CFO & European COO and finally as European COO, was responsible for multiple Strategic programs and transactions for the Group, including capital raising, secondary offerings, merger & acquisitions, business consolidation / repositioning, and all aspects of the Group's Financial and Capital management. Adrian's final role in ResMed was as ResMed's European COO with responsibility to consolidate the Group s European operations, establish a European Senior Management function, develop a centralised support function for the territory and complete the merger of its German operations.

Adrian invested in Avalis Healthcare Systems mid in 2007 and has worked with the Board and management to prepare the company for key account sales and business development. Through his Basel based investment company ABSF Partners GmbH, Adrian has opened many supporting channels for Avalis through his local and international networks.

Dr. Brendan J. Murray BSc (Hons) PhD
Founder and CTO
Dr. Murray is founder and CTO Avalis Healthcare Systems AG. He has a PhD in life science and 15 years of international experience in the pharma and biotech industries, in the areas of therapeutic drug discovery and development. An entrepreneur since 1992, he has 10 years of consulting, project management and software development experience on small and large-scale projects and product development in the pharma and high tech industries. In 2002, Dr. Murray co-founded a Network Technologies company and initiated the Avalis mobile eClinical business.

Dr. Hellmuth Broda
President, Chairman of the Board
Formerly the CTO of Sun Microsystems EMEA and Middle East, Hellmuth has had a highly distinguished career in business, technology and innovation. He is a sought after key note speaker and opinion leader around the world and an active member of many European and international committees involved in large scale information technology strategies, policies and implementations at global and government levels. His activities span such diverse areas as telemedicine, environmental policy of technology, open source and software patents and online identity protection.

Hellmuth's current focus is on open IT system standards and identity, privacy and trust management in on-line services via Liberty Alliance and Business Marketing Group, where he received the Chairman's Award in 2005 and serves as spokesman for the European market.

Hellmuth has been an active supporter and advisor to Avalis Healthcare Systems AG since foundation at the end of 2004.

Dr. Martin Denz MD
Head of the Swiss Medical Association (FMH) eHealth group, President of the Swiss Society for Medical Informatics SGMI
Dr. Denz sits on several Swiss and international eHealth committees and is an opinion leader in eHealth policy within Switzerland and the EU.

Dr. Harald Rinde MD MBA
Senior Medical Consultant
Dr. Rinde is a Medical Doctor and has practiced as a General Practitioner. He holds an MBA from Kellogg, Northwestern University. Dr. Rinde has more than 14 years Management experience in Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, Pharma Service and Health-informatics.
